Cosmic Medal Monday - 25th June 2026

May 2026

The main local event this week was the Kirkhill 8. Not 8k or 8 miles, it is 8 hours to run as many loops of the course as you can in the time. Lead Cosmic was Jason Wild who covered 40.71 miles, followed by Paul McLeod with 38.7 miles. Tina McLeod ran 36.8 miles, Stuart Ritchie ran 36.78 miles, Pippa Samphier ran 35.94 miles, Graeme Lornie ran 28.7 miles and Nicola Edward ran 4.3 miles. A fantastic effort by all on a nice sunny day that must have been quite warm for running.

Some folk preferred the shorter outing of a parkrun:

Hazlehead - Ewen Rennie

Crathes Castle - Lyndsay McEwan who also went on to run Scolty

Stonehaven - Gary Gutteridge

Aviemore - Andrea Drummond

It was a lovely day on Sunday for the Cosmic Run at Glen Tanar. 2 of the 4 then cycled and climbed Mount Keen which all provides extra elevation for the challenge. Today is Day 25 and Cosmics have climbed an amazing total of 137,588m. Colin had taken the lead with an epic gravel bike trip from Manchester to Glasgow. On the same trip, Steve has surged into 2nd place and Davie is in 3rd. Everyone's efforts count, small local hills as well as 1000m days. Just keep climbing!
