The major Cosmic event this week was the annual bake-off competition, but some running went on as well.
It was a lovely sunny morning for the Saturday parkruns:
Hazlehead - Sam Gomersall, Anita Hamilton, Colin Taylor, Lesley Gomersall and Ewen Rennie
Aberdeen Beach - Ally Sutherland
Ellon- Linda Smith
Crathes - Graeme Lornie
Stonehaven - Gary Gutteridge
Later on (after dark) Annaelle Harris-Logie, Alan Dick and Graeme Lornie did the Glenshee Snow run, battling against blizzards at the top.
On Sunday, Pippa Samphier (6th), Shayne Lilith-Moon (23rd), Kat Lancaster, Tina McLeod and Nicola Edward did the Arbroath Smokies 10 miles (a rare Ladies only race, it’s almost surprising it’s allowed). Alan Cormack ran the Meadows Marathon in Edinburgh. Alan's nephew Rory also ran making it his first marathon. Lyndsay McEwan ran the half marathon. The 4 participants in the Cosmic Sunday run enjoyed (or endured?) wet and windy conditions at the top of Peter Hill. However, they did get to consume left over cake afterwards.
The Cosmic Bake-off competition is now on its way 6th year and this time the theme was a sweet cake including a vegetable. There were 7 entries, all delicious and much enjoyed by the tasters. The winner was Sam Gomersall’s Courgette, Lime and Pistachio Loaf - both tasty and pretty.
