AMRT Fundraiser- Elevation Challenge cumulative height of ALL the Munros (287,044 metres)

May 2025

In case you missed it,  the Cosmic Elevation Challenge was completed around midday on Saturday 21st June.    Our Social Media Guru, Annaelle, set up the Challenge to raise funds for the Aberdeen Mountain Rescue Team.  The initial aim was for the Cosmic Group to climb the cumulative height of all the Munros in the AMRT area in the month of May.  But as this was achieved within 6 days we decided to go for the cumulative height of ALL the Munros (287,044 metres) in the shortest time we could.  The heights climbed were registered on an App/ web site called Challenge Hound with 32 Cosmics signed up, and a WhatsApp group to communicate, exchange photos and encourage each other.  It was the fantastic fun!  If you look at the graph, you will see that 3 people were way ahead in the elevation stakes, but it didn’t matter how fast or slow or how much, everyone played their part.  Such was the enthusiasm that you had to get up early on the last day to make sure to get in before the finish.    More than 900£ has been raised so far, there’s room for more of course.  Many thanks to Annaelle for the inspiration and setting up the challenge!       To donate:     https://www.justgiving.com/page/cosmicsamrtelevationfundraiser?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL&utm_campaign=015
