Louise's Update 22 June

June 2020

Hello Cosmics

Well done to Ally and Alan on their virtual west highland way races last weekend with Alan doing the full race distance in one go! I think Ally might be doing the virtual John o Groats to Lands End now too, so good luck with that. Rod and Sue and Ian are still chasing down those remote and tricky Aberdeenshire Trig points.

Hill running wise i am not sure if there is really much change for us between phase 1 and phase 2 lifting of lockdown but the advice seems still to be stay local so it kind of looks like we are on phase 1.2 but i think people are now venturing further afield and meeting up for some socially distanced runs. I guess if people are fed up of running alone they could also post here or on the Cosmics facebook page if they want company for a socially distanced run or cycle. I've lost track of how many people from how many different households can meet when or where, so you can figure that one out for yourselves.

I am sensing that there is now a lack of interest in any more virtual challenges and saturday post run coffees so i think i will draw a line under these now.

As such, its going to be a bit tricky for me to update you all each week if there is nothing to say or report on so feel free to let me know if you have been up to any interesting local running or cycling or kayaking adventures that you want to let others know about so that they can try these for themselves. I think folk are always on the look out for new running routes, things to do etc particularly at the moment.

If anyone is interested in some form of virtual meet up in a couple of weeks time, maybe a virtual pub night, then let me know although its always hard to find anything that is of enough interest for people to stay up past the Cosmics collective 8.30pm bed time. Maybe an afternoon tea and cakes meet up instead? Lunch?

As always here are a few things that you might find interesting...
