I hope you and your loved ones are all safe and well in these strange and difficult times. I know racing may be the furthest thing from your minds at the moment but I thought it important to update you, I feel we need something to look forward to once this harrowing situation subsides and we return to some semblance of a normality.
In light of the advice from Scottish Hill Runners and Scottish Athletics the Lairig Ghru race for 2020 will not now take place on the 28th June.
We had anticipated this, hence operating a pre-selection list, you were, of course, placed under no obligation when you entered.
I have been discussing alternatives with our event partners, they have been very supportive, at this point in time what follows is very much provisional but if at all possible we would like to conduct the race this year.
If we can organise the event whilst complying with the Scottish Government's advice surrounding event management, then we would like to do so by, at the very latest, Sunday 27th September, potentially it could be earlier but it will not be later than 27th September.
I would envisage giving you a month's notice of the race being held, therefore, the latest we will invite entries will be the end of August, if the race is able to go ahead earlier then the months notice will apply accordingly.
You do not have to do anything with your entry, if we get the go ahead I will invite you to enter and you will have one week to do so.
Stay safe, keep training and hopefully I will see you in the hills this year.
If you need any clarification or have any questions please get in touch.
all the best,
